more and more with Aya

Quick date...

And we are some girls who really spend more on food more than anything else.

After seeing Samurai X in the big screen, we went straight to Yabu for lunch. And I'm claiming my free tonkatsu meal since it's my birthday! Yabu is awesome like that. And well, we didn't get to take a photo of our food. Too busy swooning over the movie and chitchatting on what we are missing doing together.

Stayed a little longer than necessary, just because.... we ate many and we are enjoying the place. The little noise of other people talking and people watching as well while we do our own chattering.

We are full and happy, but what is a meal without a mouthwatering dessert. I so  love desserts it is a crime not to indulge in it once in a while. But then we thought of finding a cup of coffee first. So, she heard of this place, Mochicream Café, having a yummy mochi cream. Mochicream Café it is then! And being the big sister who is a lost cause when it comes to directions and maps, we roamed the lot of SM Megamall in search for the café. It was located in the new wing - Fashion mall.

And then, walking around.... we came across this! Would this day be any more sinful than it is now?

The answer?? Please don't judge! hahahaha cause, we head out and found this....

St. Marc's Café's Choco Berry Celebration

All in all... well, the sweet-tooth monster in me is doing the happy dance! The mochi cream was awesome but then pick your flavor carefully. If I may just say, really, all things fits differently. And then another frozen delight at St. Marc's - totally nice! But I certainly cannot finish the whole servings alone. As pretty as it is, it is for someone who fancies freezing goodness. It's like the Japanese version of a complex halo-halo. Not your regular concoction though! No wonder it's popular at all. I like it all the same anyway, and will certainly be back for more... soon, I hope so.

Happy and satiated,
♥A

more foooood~

Today, we were scheduled to renew our passport! hoooray for more trips. Lol I'm just not sure if I'll still push through with Europe this year. Anyway, and it really seemed like whenever Aya and I were together we end up doing a little bit of food tripping.

First stop for a hefty lunch is Yabu in Megamall Atrium.

It is the tonkatsu! I love Yabu and its generous servings and really nice staff. I'm smitten! (♥.♥)

And this salmon?? I'm in love. Okay, I might be overrating Yabu but then the thing is, the place screams nothing of complication and the food is great and relatively affordable from its size and servings. How can I not love this place aside from it's Japanese?

And having full tummy, we decided to have the "must" coffee just because..

We looked really hard for this café. Walking back and forth.. back and forth and back and forth.. until finally, we spotted this little corner! Well, guess this was why it was difficult to find because we are looking for something that looks different than this spot. Yet, walking back and forth for the nth time was worth it. Their coffee concoctions were great and we'll definitely come back for more if I happened to be in the area.

And our last stop for take away while eyeing the other restaurants for something to come back to next time..

Beyond happy with food.. ~♥A

a day short from Christmas

All the way from work, I met up with Aya with her friends to try out this all day breakfast place in Rockwell. But how unlucky it was! It is yet to open until 12 noon, I'm starved and tired and don't have that much energy to argue so we ended up walking yet another round for this another restaurant, only to find ourselves back from where we were. We did end up in TWG! =P

Oh well! TWG is a sure bet in my books. Food is great and I don't expect anything less with the service.

Eggs Benedict

Oven roasted chicken + Spinach pasta

Caribbean crepe

Bourbon island crepe
To sum it up, we had our lunch and we're back home at noon. And of course my pre-ordered White Christmas log cake for tonight! Can't wait to dig in! =)

 Happy Christmas ALL! ~ ♥A

TWG.. while waiting

I woke up feeling worn out from yesterday and it felt like I'm working on auto-mode - shower and then pack my things up. I need my dose of caffeine I guess. The girls and I didn't have time for breakfast since we needed to check out before noon and we already missed the breakfast buffet. We opted to fix ourselves then with all of us needing to be some place else this lunch. We separated our ways afterwards with the promise of another get together around December.

I headed off to Rockwell Powerplant mall as promised to Aya and thought I could wait for her until her shift ends. And I thought that would be easy, then realized, indeed it's just a thought! I arrived there at around noon and her shift ends at 6pm. Okay. I'll be idle for about more than I bargained for instead of sleeping in my bed cozy with my pillows. I did not thought of it, really, that I'll be waiting for hours with no company while my eyes are tired half shut and needing the effort to keeping it open.

Once I arrived there, Aya meant business and was assisting one of the customers in the retail area. I was greeted warmly by the other staff while Aya was assisting another. I was seated on one of the tables and everybody seemed pretty nice. All accommodating with their colleague's sister. That's really sweet of them!

I started checking out the menu again and the tea list. This time I am less overwhelmed and was able to read more in the tea selections than I had before in Greenbelt. I found it more comfortable here than the other branch, maybe because I knew what to expect this time than before plus Aya is just around the corner.

I started out with a pot of Tea Number 12, it is a black tea with coffee! I'm so happy when Aya mentioned this to me before and I knew I had to try it. Truly it has a taste of coffee in it. Now it is in my favorite lists. So I have my tea and a plate of scones with Red of Africa tea jelly and cream on the side. Sounds delicious and for real it really tastes good.

And after.... a long.... while......

C'mon.. I'm staking here for a few more hours.. I need sustenance! lol *justifying myself to eat more*

I like the stew and I think it's for sharing. Yeah, it's for sharing and I ate it solo.

Then finally...time to leave! ^_^

Aya and Me-time on the roll next before heading home.... and again.. another round of food, crepes and ice cream! How can I resist desserts? The sugar-toothed monster inside was nudged to wake!

I'm not really showy and all. And I hate dramas but since I want to give you dear sister a heartfelt greetings.. here goes nothing...

To my soulmate, my coffeemate, my twin-sister (DAW?!), my personal chef, my bestfriend, and to the EPITOME OF ROYAL MOODINESS! Happy happy birthday! Shabu-shabu with Aya

We sort of missing out on each other's stresses. And we had a pact to date every after end of quarter so here we are, meeting after Aya's working hours and before I report to work. More or less 2 hours to catch up!

While checking out the restaurants around the mall, Aya took notice of this shabu-shabu place named Ganso-Shabuway Japanese Style Hot Pot and had the urge to try it out. Menu looked pretty good and the place is yet to be filled at the time.

We ordered the Meyer Natural Angus set served with white rice and vegetables. I opted for the seaweed broth while Aya went for the spicy miso broth. Er.. I don't really eat seaweeds and I didn't know why I chose it in the first place.

We talked a lot while waiting for the food to be served. The plate of vegetables and pot of broth were easily served yet we had to wait for the plate of beef. Anyhow, we started cooking with just the broth, vegetables and tofu. The broth, the seaweed broth was bland and needs to be seasoned for better taste while the spicy miso broth which surprisingly, I prefer more, were good enough for my buds without adding any more seasonings. We both agreed on this one and mixed both broth instead. =P Both broth were refillable as much as you like with no extra charge, which is awesome!

Food wise, it's good but nothing special. On service, well... we felt like they don't really want to refill our broth! That says a lot with their service doesn't it given that there were only us and another table occupied? lol The place were clean and feels cozy and great for quiet conversation or maybe it's just because it's only us at the moment. =D All in all, we enjoyed the food and our time together but not really the service they catered.

For dessert, we dropped by TWG for some slice of happiness. I picked Singapore Surprise, sort of like a custard cake infused with vanilla bourbon tea with lots of berries. Well, it's nice but it's not my favorite. Still, I like TWG! ♥

twg date with Aya

Second time at TWG, only this time I am with my sister. Aya will be starting to work here on Monday and we decided to check out the place together and indulge a bit as well. I have been caught up with a lot of work recently and instead of going there together we agreed to just meet up some place near TWG.

Today, we tried Sakura Sakura tea for Aya and New York's breakfast tea for me (can't get enough of chocolate infused tea.♥) And God! How awesome this place is! I'll never look at teas the same way again. And I am willing to pay more pennies for the same quality as theirs or better. Like this I can truly appreciate teas. And it does get any better. We had some macaron as well, madeleine accompanied with TWG jelly and cream, and mini burgers which is truly a must try. I love the chips on the side!

And just that we're happy. We made quiet conversation on this week's run down, her work and my work, our frustrations and about family. We certainly look like friends catching up, like we don't see each other everyday except we do see each other every day at home! =D

Happy tummy... ^_^

home with family

I came home a bit later than promised and Aya was so mad at me, like she kept on her snobby face and snooty demeanor just because I came home later than expected. Still I kept my promise. Ugh! Sometimes I do feel she is demanding too much. She's becoming more of a mother to me than our own mother sometimes. just kidding! {She'll kill me if ever she read this.}

After a loooong day, I was still able to whip up a pot of hot chocolate for a wholesome night. Yes, no alcohol this time. We're doing a homey Saturday night complete with comfort food for snacks while we talk our way through the night. I'm not sure how can I keep my eyes open for long though. I think I'll have to save the sleeping part for much later on...

What I love about doing my own hot chocolate is that I can do it as dark as I can and as sweet as I prefer. Mom's recipe is so simple even a first timer can whip it up themselves. All you need is water, peanut butter or peanuts, tablea or cocoa powder (unsweetened), evaporated milk, and sugar. We always do this every Christmas and New Year's eve or whenever we liked to especially on a rainy day. Warmth is really comforting on a lazy, cold day.

What we had on tonight were hotdogs, siomai, fishballs, squidballs, chicken balls, dynamite, cheese sticks, crab sticks and the buttered prawns. Another feast! How am I suppose to eat more? I can't think of it more.
But I need to eat some because Aya will surely start her unpredictable mood swings again and I wouldn't want to ruin everyone's night after I've resurrected her happy mood a while back while I cook and keep on cheering her up. =P

More cakes for me!! Thank you Ate Hercy and Ate Lexcy. Really appreciate the gesture. And I love the cakes too. xxoo I can't eat anymore though, maybe tomorrow or the next day I'll have a look at it and eat some but for now... 'X'

We wrapped up the day at around past 2 am. I had fun, we had fun and I am now ready to crawl my way to bed. Today was indeed a "busy" day! Very true to the word. Busy yet indulging. I'll be sleeping with a happy face.

Bonne nuit! ♥A

family and pizza

Welcoming my birth month, Daddy saw this ad in the news paper about a Shakey's promo and have been talking about it to Mommy days ago. And since it's my birthday month they are teasing me to treat them there. And I can't resist them..

Nothing much has happened but a lot of photos! Funny faces and candid pictures. It was a fun day even if I'm paying the meal it was worth all the fun we had together. =P
