Girls' little party

It was unfortunate that today's weather was not so agreeable. It was rainy and I wasn't able to attend my good friend's wedding. However, with this unexpected turn I was able to free up my time to sleep a bit more and rest before my pre-Christmas dinner with my other girls.

This year, we girls have decided to do something fancy... And since I was dying to try this place, it's a win-win for me.

Chateau 1771 it is. We arrived more than early and the place was the least busy at this time of the day.

I got my soup for starters.. Cream of mushroom it is.

And then I really had to try this entrée called Potence, one of their best sellers. Well, visuals with all that prep was impressive. It kind of gave the whole thing a kick.

But as always.. this is my favorite part.. dessert!! We had this slice of Coffee pie and it's so nice with a lovely cup of coffee as well.

And it's feels like we had it backwards. It's only now that we ordered our wine and mojito. Lol

I love the place at first sight and I loved it even more with how nice our food experience was just now. ^.^

Feeling it too early to call a night. We headed out to Baja Cantina. It seems like we always end up here whenever we are around the area. hehe but not before I get my hands on some pastries in the nearby Bizu.

Always a sucker for sweets.. and as promised to bring home some cheesecakes I got this wrapped up and since the crew at Baja were ever so nice, they offered to keep the cakes refrigerated until the time we opt to leave.

We surely love this place because we can have as many mojitos or margaritas we like and the nachos are forever lovely!

Certainly we just had our dinner and.. what? we really love the nachos here and can't resist it. Also, this time we did try the fries as well. hmm.. I still vouch the nachos on my number one here with all that dollop of toppings! =P

Drinks, food and our never ending stories.. At times like this, I really don't know how to explain our endless conversation. It just happen plus the fun. We reminisce, we plan, we day dream and we taunt each other to laughter. Time well spent indeed, just the way to de-stress from work and enjoy the weekend.

And finally, to end the night.. a remake of our photo from a year ago. LOL

TWG: A first of many

From Mall of Asia to Glorietta then Greenbelt.

I have a date with the lovely people I made friends from MVC. I am quite early, in fact. We were set to meet at around 5 pm in time for the dinner buffet at Yakimix and I didn't expect the "engagement activity" to be done this early just around lunch. I need something to amuse myself with. And I realized I'm just tiring myself walking back and forth doing nothing while waiting so I opted to find some place to lounge while waiting for them. I do think it won't be long since Mossy had texted me he's on his way.

Then I thought of TWG Tea Salon and Boutique, Aya's will be 'new' workplace next week...

First impression of the place.. It was intimidating if you are not used to going to such place. And since I am not much of a tea fan, it is my first time here. The place at that time was packed with people having afternoon teas I think. Couple of group of friends around and another family beside from where the host had seated me. It was surprising that most of the diners were foreigners, where have gone my fellow people of the country, eh?

Anyway, the host and staffs were pretty accommodating. When they handed me the menu and tea list... *I die* If the place was intimidating for first timers try checking out their list of Tea! It took me more than a second to place my order. I stared at the tea list for mere minutes acting as if reading at first but really, I was not. I am digesting and thinking "How am I suppose to read this all and take my pick?". It was uncommon for me to ask questions but at this moment I thought I needed the help badly. I am on the verge of panic and I can't absorb what I am reading. The table attendant has checked on me twice already and I'm feeling the pressure really! I tried texting Aya and then I remembered she was talking about this certain tea the other day, the one infused with chocolate. Brilliant brain! I can now give my order. A pot of Chocolate Earl Grey tea and a slice of cheesecake it is. Whew!

I feel like a poser here, waiting for someone whom I don't know if coming. I asked Mossy to join me once he arrived by the mall but he refused saying it is expensive dining and we were about to have dinner buffet together. So I spent my time there alone, eating my cheesecake slowly and taking the time in sipping my tea. I like it! A LOT! The cheesecake was different from the usual cheesecake, like the others on their menu and pastry displays, it was also infused with some type of tea. With regards to the tea, well, it tastes pretty awesome. I like that it was light and doesn't have an after taste. Chocolate Earl Grey was a lovely thing. It has the hint of tea and the taste of real chocolate and it smells nice too. It may be expensive but hey, it's worth spending for with it's quality and all. Efficient service, good food and lovely tea! It is a pleasant treat to self that ones in a while I wouldn't mind indulging with especially if Aya will be around here soon. I can see myself dining here at least once a month. oh no! I will be totally penniless after a few months. =P

In between people watching, (I wish I was seated by the glass window and not at the middle of chatting friends and bouncy kids with their parents) and drinking/eating slowly.. very slowly.. I didn't notice it was already past 4 pm. Oh well.. Time well spent. I asked for the bill and then the attendant asked me if I would like to check their mooncake. Yikes! and being me, easy to sway.. I bought one! I can't believe myself. *jaw drop* why did I buy one?

soon to be broke... ♥A

redoing family dinner 2 years ago..

I took a day off from work for the family dinner. We do this sort of dinner whenever a family is soon to be leaving off to somewhere, sorta send off dinner or so it seems. But really we do this to bond, catch up and share stories and make tattle-telling, just to be in the company of each other. It keeps the family tight!

This time since Tita Julie is nearing the end of her short holidays at home we decided to treat her out again like we did two years ago before she left for work too.

I took a nap after playing with Princess and at around noon, Aya and I left off first to meet a friend of mine and coffee back at Caffé Bene in Eastwood City.

We spent a couple of hours talking there and taking time into drinking our coffee because it's too early for supper and we are to meet the family at around 7 in the evening. We were supposed to dine in Bonoyaki like two years ago but it was only then we found out that it has ended the business for quite some time now. Now we opted for another buffet restaurant near the area Sambo kojin (Eat All You Can).

Since Aya and I was just around the corner, we arrived pretty early and have to wait for the opening time for dinner. We were walked in our designated table after a bit and waited for Dad, Mom and Ate with Tita Julie. Aside from good food, I love the staff. My sister and I were taken cared of really well. Every staff who passes by our table would ask what we need and even offer us variety of soup, etc. And since they were persistent we settled for a sukiyaki soup while we wait. Sambo kojin has arrays of food variety that'll give you a headache to choose from or maybe not I'm just exaggerating! But it was for me! =D

In truth, Aya and I is currently undergoing some cleansing and this dinner was a huge break! It is more than a cheat day or an exceptional day or whatever it is called because we ate more than a lot. I feasted on varieties of maki rolls, sushi and sashimi and Aya more than what I took. She has an awesome tummy I'm jealous that she can eat as much as she wants. =P

After dinner was dessert! My favorite part of a meal. My sweet tooth is twitching with excitement.

We head to UCC for coffee and dessert. UCC is always love.♥

And we were seated on the same spot from two years ago.

Cool huh?! Seems like it's not only me who's not changing. =P

andddd my photos suck! how unlucky I did not even check. too late now! :(

i think this was cheesecake. I can't even remember =(

Japanese cheesecake

flour-less Chocolate cake
Tita is so sneaky she paid it on her way back from the restroom. It was supposed to be our treat this whole time and we were caught off guard. Anyhow, we really enjoyed our time together and sure to continue doing this whenever she'll be home for the holidays.

Bon voyage Tita! see you in a few! with love~ ♥A

Spa day

Aya and I were curious with the Korean Spa / Jimjjilbang and I've been wanting to try it from my trips ago in Seoul but haven't got the chance to. So when she saw this certain spa resting in the vicinity of Makati we did went for it as soon as we can. We made reservations in Lasema Spa for after my work on a week end.

It has the air of the traditional Korean spa as seen in the dramas. They have a variety of jacuzzi pools and sauna rooms at your disposal. I like the igloo with beds and food! I was worn out and starved when we arrive, so yes I like the bed spread and food the most in this experience. The massage was okay, not too rough for me. I like it more because I was not sore afterwards. ^_^

While I slept most of the hours we were there after the shower and massage, Aya went exploring. she tried all the sauna rooms and guessing with the looks of it, she enjoyed it. I still believe she forgot all about me sleeping and all in one of the igloo made for sleeping. I woke up and she's no where to be found only to know she's in one of the sauna rooms enjoying the steam.

We left after a while to have lunch. And since we're into trying something new today, we took the chance and tried some Indian cuisine in New Bombay.

What can I say? We stayed on the safe, ordered chicken tikka, naan bread and rice. I'm sorry but I'm not one to like too many spices in a food. Yes, I have a bland taste buds. The food is too tasty for me, I can't.. I did try though but I ended up eating less and offering Aya my share.

We then stroll around after lunch. Walking for a bit in search for a dessert to wash off the too much remains left in our buds of the lunch we had. We ended up in one of Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf chains located in Ayala Triangle. We had coffee and cheesecake. Now, I'm happy with my food again. =D

We ended our date running under the rain to catch a ride home! It was fun, relaxing and tiring as well. Lasema was nice and will definitely come back for sure! =)

Later then.. with lalalalaloooove! ♥

what's nice about yesterday...

So I spend last night's post ranting out my unpleasantries. And today, I just wanted to point out things to be grateful for...another new day, another gained year of wisdom.. another hopeful year to come by for me... family and friends no matter how awful some times might be.. and all the love, happiness, laughter, good and bad times, dreams, wishes, and everything..

I am a 'pretty damn lucky girl' as I always believe so. I may not have the perfect day on my birthday and not even half as great with the other days, but I always have an endless list of things to be grateful for. Just thankful with what life has come to offer each time.. ^_^ thank you!
